How to Get Warcraft 1.24 Patch (Beta)

Warcraft Patch 1.24Warcraft 1.24 Patch is needed to help IceFrog testing the Dota 6.62 Beta Map. Here is what IceFrog said in PlayDota forums to get Warcraft 1.24 Patch:
To get the latest patch, select the Westfall (ClassicBeta) option from the realm menu on battle.net. Your warcraft will then be patched to 1.24.

If you need to revert back to 1.23 for whatever reason (for example, if you need to test something in 6.61b to compare), just change to a different realm and click connect. Warcraft will then revert back to the older version.


Honestly, i cannot connect to Battle.Net right now. So if you already get the 1.24 Patch, feel free to share it here :) (because Blizzard keep saying the next patch will be Warcraft 1.23b Patch)

Dota 6.61d Map - Official Dota-Allstars 6.61d Download News

Dota 6.61cDota 6.61d Map - Official Dota-Allstars 6.61d Download News and Update. IceFrog has just release Dota 6.61c to fix the compatibility problem with Patch 1.24. But since the map is made quickly after the patch release, it's highly possible that it still contains some bugs and Dota 6.61d map will follow.

Warcraft Patch 1.24bWarcraft 1.24b Patch will likely coming up to follow the 1.24 Patch. IceFrog said in his latest post, that the current patch is not final and there will be Warcraft 1.24b Patch/1.24c Patch.

Blizzard is still tweakening the current patch. And IceFrog will keep updating the Dota 6.62 Beta map to keep up with the released patch.

Dota-Allstars v6.61b AI+ 1.53 Pre Alpha 3 Map Download

Dota-Allstars 6.61b AIDota-Allstars v6.61b AI+ 1.53 Pre Alpha 3 Map Download. KillerBee has just made another release. More mode is available (including -ne & -ng, yay!) and the shadow orb(and other strange items) is removed. The item build also changed into a new one, not just bracers like the Pre Alpha 2.

Dota 6.61b OMG v1.04b Map Download


Dota 6.61b OMG v1.04b Map Download. Several weeks after the Dota 6.59d OMG map, ~Bob~ has just release another map. Now, you can try the OMG mode on the latest map, Dota 6.61b. Yay! If you haven't know what is OMG map is, ~Bob~ explained well in below statement. Or if you're too lazy to read it, check out this cool video made by PizzaSlice dedicated for the OMG mode ;)



Dota OMG is the map based on one of latest DotA Allstars map (currently 6.61b), with one big change � heroes allowed to have any ability.
There are two ways to change hero's skill set � random or pick. Every of them can be activated using it own mode, which must be writen with other game modes.

1. Random abilities

When any hero appears in game (was picked or randomed) it gains 3 random standart abilities and 1 random ultimate. They are random from pool of avaible abilities and go throught some checks (details below).

- can be activated by typing -ra with other game modes; more interesting and fun games are with -ardm mode, so blue player must type -ardmra like gamemode
- compatible with every game mode, except -ad

2. Abilities Draft

Every player can choose 3 standart abilities and 1 ultimate for his hero. Picking goes in a draft style. Abilities can be bought in taverns, which are filled with 66 standart abilities and 22 ultimates randomed from pool of avaible abilities.

There are tips for every ability in tavern, which contain its name, main hero (which have this ability in normal game), hotkey, some properties and list of unstackable abilities. Also there is a clever checking system which prevents your hero from learning unstackable abilities and some other bugs.

Draft process.
1. Every player must pick/get a hero. This heroes will be on pause. If someone leaves without hero, anyone must type -recheck to refresh game info about players. Draft will start when every player gets a hero.
2. When game says about draft start, 8 of 9 taverns will be filled with 66 standart abilities and 22 ultimates. Every player has 60 seconds to learn the assortment of abilities.
3. Draft starts after this time. It goes in 3 phases:
- 1st phase: blue/pink/orange/brown player starts, every player can learn 2 standart skills or 1 ultimate on his turn
- 2nd phase: brown/orange/pink/blue player starts, every player can learn 1 standart skills or 1 ultimate on his turn
- 3rd phase: blue/pink/orange/brown player starts, every player can learn up to 2 standart skills or 1 ultimate on his turn
Every phase goes in well-known 1-2-2-2-2-1 draft order. Every player has 15 seconds for every turn.
If you didn't learn something, you will get money to learn it after all 3 phases.
4. When your hero learns 3 standart skills and 1 ultimate, it will be unpaused and you'll get back your gold status before draft.
After draft ends creeps will go in 1 minute.
Warning! Sometimes you can get a bug with shops, so you can't buy anything. Your hero must get out from buying range and then get back to shops. Please, be patient to this bug. Sorry for it.

- can be activated by typing -ad with other game modes
- uncompatible with -ra, -rd, -cd and -dm modes
There a special game mode Duplicate Abilities (can be activated by typing -da), which allows for players to pick same abilities.

Special commands.
-skills � shows current abilities of your hero with some numbers, which is useful when you found a bug
-banbloodstone (-banbs)(only blue player) � after a lot of games on -ra players start to annoying, when someone creates a Bloodstone, because of it's imbaness in this mode and game becomes boring, so this command makes Bloodstone useless, because it gives 4x negative regeneration from every charge.
-recheck (only in -ad) � refreshes game info about players
-showprocess (only in -ad)(only blue player) � shows picking abilities process to everyone (who and what picked)

Checking system.
Many abilities in DotA are based on same abilities from Warcraft, and they have same orders. If 1 hero gets 2 abilities with same orders then they will be used at one moment or will work only 1 of them. Because of this, when game or player chooses ability, it goes throught special checking for compatible of abilities, that already hero has.
Some abilities can be used only on melee or ranged attack, so abilities goes throught hero attack type checking. Also, some abilities takes 2 or more active icons after learning, and if there is no more place, some abilities may disappear. To prevent it, there is a checking of this.
Totally: your hero will never get uncompatible abilities, will never get abilities for melee(ranged) attack, if it is ranged(melee), also you will never lose your skills.

This mode might eventually be part of the map, but it is not as simple as everyone thinks to add to a map that is always being developed because of lots of extra things that have to be done. It is easier for me to just add it after a map is published, like with the AI maps. So I will just update this one in meantime.

Dota-Allstars v6.61b AI+ 1.53 Pre Alpha 2 Map Download

Dota-Allstars 6.61b AIDota-Allstars v6.61b AI+ 1.53 Pre Alpha 2 Map Download. We just got a new updates from KillerBee a.k.a God Tony. This map has improved greatly compared to the previous map. I already tested the map, and now the AllPick mode is already working (previously only AR mode can be used) and some other stuff already fixed. It's fun! Finally i can do some experiments using Tauren Chieftain with this AI map :D

Here is the complete changelogs:

AI should now be able to buy items properly
Many item buying combinations have changed since the last time item builds were made, we may need to consider remaking every heroes item build
Just for testing purposes, every hero will go for Boots and two Bracers (this is only temporary)
AI should be able to pick their own heroes on AllPick
Fixed heroes leveling up once they spawn
Fixed AI to buy the DotA TP Scroll and not the one from melee games
Fixed all heroes from having the same attack animation

Wow, despite the AI items build is all the same, they still pretty hard to beat because they gain level faster than us (on insane level). For those waiting for a decent Dota 6.61 AI or Dota 6.61b AI map, this map is worth a try :)

Axe Guide, Build and Strategy - Mogul Khan Guide

Axe, one of the strongest tanker in Dota Allstars, not to mention his ulti can directly kill the low life hero even with Omniknight ulti effect. I got one friend even say that he is a mad, self-torture hero, I can't agree more.


Mogul Khan - The Axe

Range: 100(Melee) | Move Speed: 290
Primary: STR
Str: 25 + 2.5 | Agi: 20 + 2.2 | Int: 14 + 1.6
Damage: 49-53 | HP: 625 | Mana: 182
HP Regen: 1 | Mana Regen: 0.57
Attack Speed: 1.42 | Armor: 2

In the war of Humans and Orcs that occured long ago many Orcish warriors were corrupted by demonic influence and became tools of blackest darkness. One such warrior was the leader of the Half-Tribe of the Bloodied Axe Clan; Mogul Kahn. Mogul was slain by human Paladins but mysteriously was seen fighting alongside the Scourge around the time Mannoroth started to command the Orcs in the war against Archimonde. The Axe has been revived by demons and uses his reflexes and powerful blows to hunt down and seek out the Sentinels' agile warriors and cut them down to size, even projecting his lust for war onto them.

i. Axe's Skill


Berserker`s Call (E)
Mogul Kahn focuses all of his enemies' hatred on him, causing them to attack him at all costs. 300 AoE.
Level 1 - Lasts 1.5 seconds, 5 bonus armor.
Level 2 - Lasts 2 seconds, 10 bonus armor.
Level 3 - Lasts 2.5 seconds, 15 bonus armor.
Level 4 - Lasts 3 seconds, 20 bonus armor.
Mana Cost: 80/90/100/110
Cooldown: 14 seconds


The only skill that force all enemies around you to attack you, this, somehow, also bind all enemies to you, and protect your teammates from enemies. The additional armor also reduce damage to Axe, give Axe advantage in battle, or escape.



Battle Hunger (R)
Afflicts a target with a terrible killing hunger. The target will take damage per second until it kills a unit.
Level 1 - 15 damage/second, lasts 10 seconds.
Level 2 - 15 damage/second, lasts 15 seconds.
Level 3 - 20 damage/second, lasts 20 seconds.
Level 4 - 25 damage/second, lasts 25 seconds.
Mana Cost: 75/85/95/105
Cooldown: 25/20/15/10 seconds.


Actually I really think that this skill is almost useless, because the effect will be stop if the target enemy kill or deny creeps, unless your enemy too noob until cannot deny probably, using this skill on them is just a waste.

The only use of this skill is when chasing enemies, but if you got dagger, why still border on this skill? Just forget about it and add more stats to Axe.



Counter Helix (X)
Mogul Kahn counters some blows made to him dealing damage to all nearby enemy units.
Level 1 - 17% chance to counter with 100 damage.
Level 2 - 17% chance to counter with 125 damage.
Level 3 - 17% chance to counter with 150 damage.
Level 4 - 17% chance to counter with 175 damage.
Passive
Mana Cost: N/A
Cooldown: 0.7/0.65/0.60/0.55


A must skill to Axe! Not only helps Axe to hurt enemies heroes, but also helps Axe to farm. And if combo with Berserker's Call......I guess you guys can imagine that.



Culling Blade (C)
Purges the weak from Mogul Kahn's sight. Deals moderate damage, but will kill a target that is low on life.
Level 1 - Deals 150 damage, will kill if target is below 300.
Level 2 - Deals 250 damage, will kill if target is below 450.
Level 3 - Deals 300 damage, will kill if target is below 625.
Mana Cost: 120/160/200
Cooldown: 75/65/55 seconds.


Ignored magic immune, and also attack immune! Which mean even with black king bar, Omni's ulti, or Abaddon's ulti, they can block its damage, but they can't block the instance kill.

ii.Comment to Axe
Due to Axe "special" skill sets (just like wanted to be SM by others......), which make him a destined tanker in the team! Stand in the very front line and bravely lead your teammates to fight the enemies. Attract enemies' attack and protect your teammates, this is your destiny.

iii.Axe's skills build
Number means level.
1: Counter Helix
2: Berserker`s Call
3: Counter Helix
4: Berserker`s Call
5: Counter Helix
6: Culling Blade
7: Counter Helix
8~9: Berserker`s Call
10: Stat
11: Culling Blade
12~15: Stat
16: Culling Blade
17~21: Stat
22~25: Battle Hunger

So, because Axe must be a tanker, so we need to max his counter helix first, and to combo with the counter helix, so Berserker's call need to be max after counter helix. Like I mentioned before, I think battle hunger almost useless, so I will just left it to the last, and add stats to Axe first.

iv.Strategies

The strategies here is depends on 6.60 or above.

When start, buy a stout shields and a quelling blade first, then just used the rest of money to get some recovery item, I suggest all buy Ancient Tango.

Maybe some cannot understand why border about quelling blade, actually quelling blade is a must item for all melee heroes in 6.60 or above. The 32% additional damage to non-hero units can help your melee heroes to farm faster.

When choosing which lane you go, you need to be very careful about one thing, never ever choose mid lane for Axe. You can either go to top or bottom, just don't go to mid lane, because mid lane too short, and the top or bottom lane have secret shops which can let Axe purchase Ring of Health without leaving lane.

Due to the counter helix, normally if Axe keep an eyes on his life, he is a totally farmer(unless meet some kind of heroes, which I will mentioned later). Just remember one thing, don't attack your enemy's heroes unless you go near to them, so you won't waste your counter.

When you got money, buy another stout shield, then farm out Ring of Health, normally you should be level 4 or 5 already, even higher if you are soloing, or get some kills already. Then you can either choose to get another Ring first, or go purchase vitality booster for a vanguard, just remember to throw off you stout shield first, so that vanguard damage blocking will come first.

After you level six, get a boot, then you can go out for ganking others. When you gank, you need to calculate enemy's hp carefully, how many counter helix can drop his life until low enough to let your ulti instance kill? And also don't just go with your own unless you can kill the hero in one hit.

And when you want to use call, remember try to use it to grab as many enemies as you can. First, your enemies can't run; second, they can't skill; third, they can't hurt your teammates.

If there is no one to gank, then go farm; if no creeps to farm, go forest. You need the money to get some expensive items, such as Dagger and Heart.

Actually Axe is a quite simple hero, just you need to know when to call, and when to ulti only. Really unlike some others heroes, which you must used skillfully, or it will be a nightmare, such as puck or mirana.

One more thing, maybe some pro will think that this no need to be remind, but I have see many stupid Axe did this, don't ever try to kill inside enemy tower range, especially when early game, your Axe still having a low life.

Also remember to protect your teammate, don't just go kill and left your teammate to die, you mission is to protect, the kills are just some add-on rewards. A successful Axe is not the one which kill the most, but is the one who can attract all enemies' attacks, and protect his teammates.

v.Item Build

Vanguard+Vanguard+Heart of Tarrasque+Kelen's Dagger of Escape+Boot of Travel+Quelling Blade

Actually this is just my normal style, sometimes you might need to do some adjust due to the situation. Like if the enemies have many spammers, then change one of the vanguard to hood of defiance. If enemies have some instance kill magicians, like lina, lion, then change one vanguard to linken's sphere.

I also see some Axe buy a poor man's shield, this is not my style, but you can try it, it might more suit you.

But the dagger and the heart are must item. You need the dagger to blink in to the best place to used call, then the heart can add your life and you damage.

The first which you will get beside quelling blade is vanguard, no matter one or two vanguards. After the vanguard, get dagger, you need it more than you can imagine.

After dagger, depends to the situation, either get boots first, or get heart first. If you can survive in most of the battle, then you can get boots of travel first, if not, then you better get heart first.

Of course, you can also sell quelling blade in the late game, and get another heart.

vi.Warning: Heroes which shall never meet by Axe in the early of game.
First, Spammers such as Death Prophet or Puck.
Second, Heroes which have slow skills, such as Viper or Drow.
Third, Heroes which have skills that can slowly deals damage in time, such as venomancer and huskar.

Your Axe meet them in the game start, then congratulations to you, your Axe will mostly have the lowest level in the game.

vii. Ending
Well, I guess that's all for Axe. Finally, hope that you all can use Axe happily.

After waited for couple of weeks, a new AI map for Dota 6.6x series released. This time it's not from BuffMePlz as we expected, but from KillerBee a.k.a God Tony, the maker of Dota 6.61b 6v6 map.

But before your hopes got too high, let me pull you back to earth. This AI map is still on development and still got much things to do, that's why it called Dota-Allstars v6.61b AI+ 1.53 Pre Alpha.

Here is some problem about this map:
* AI can't choose heroes due to changed taverns
* AllRandom is the only playable gamemode because of this
* AI can't buy the correct items to due changed item shops
* AI buying random items (Orb of Darkness, 2xBarracks) because of this
* Everyone except the player started @lvl2 -_-"
* All ranged heroes having the same animation (Warlock's)
* Sometimes there's fatal error (i haven't found it yet)

The next few versions will most likely be focused primarily on balance tweaks, 1.24 compatibility and overall performance improvement. I am looking for some thoughts on what major changes, additions or direction you'd like to see after all that stuff is done.

IceFrog is writing on PlayDota that next few version (including Dota 6.62) will focused on compatibility issues with the new Warcraft Patch. Karune (Blizzard admin) said it will be Warcraft 1.23b Patch while IceFrog said the next patch is Warcraft 1.24 Patch. Either way, prepare for a new patch guys ;)

Silencer Guide, Build & Strategy - Nortrom Guide (Dota 6.61 Update)

Nortrom the Silencer Guide, Build & Strategy. Silencer is having another buff on Dota 6.61. While Nerubian Weaver got a skill remake, Nortrom has a change on his first skill and a buff on his Last Word aura. Now, every enemy heroes that dies within his aura range (950 AoE), will give him a permanent +1 intelligence. Wow! It's pretty cool since usually we must got the kill to do so. The first skill changes, Curse of the Silent also tempted me to level up it. Before, CotS is a skill that never taken since it halt Silencer damage. Well, let's check out the new skills and plan a new build for Nortrom the Silencer.

Hailing from the magical community of Quel'Thalas, Nortrom is one of the strongest Elven warriors defending the integrity of the lands. Mastering the ancient art of glaive-throwing, and combining it with the volatile nature of the Blood Elves' arcane magic, he is able to disrupt the magical energies in his enemies. Last Word (Passive/Aura)
Causes any unit under the effect of this aura to become silenced after it finishes casting a spell.

Silences unit if it casts anything for 0.75/1.5/2.25/3 seconds

� The aura will be disabled when Nortrom is silenced.
� Channeling skills will activate this even if they are canceled.
� Silencer will permanently steal 1 Intelligence from any enemy hero that dies within 950 range.

Global Silence (ultimate)
Stops all enemies on the map from casting spells.

Justification

Curse of the Silent is taking first as it will help you drain your enemies mana and will save you from enemies spells.

If you're laning against someone that can easily couter cots you might want to skip it (zeus, storm), if you're laning against someone that can hardly cancel it (viper, leo) you can go ahead and max it.

The skill build is focused on CotS + Lastword. CotS is much stronger compared to your Glaives, either in lane or in ganks. CotS is not as easily counterable as most makes it to be, it is common sense to cast it after your opponent had casted their spell. CotS will deal major dmg due to:
1) opponent spell on cd
2) they have no mana to cast a spell (CotS drains mana, and hero starts with pitiful mana pool)
3) casting it while in a chase

After you steal sufficient Int, you can pile on the hurt with Glaives. It's more important to control your lane and get as many free Int from enemy deaths earlier now.

Nortrom the Silencer Items Build

Starting Items

+ Void Stone
Nortrom is very fragile, so we get the Bracer parts early to boost his HP. If you're in the side lane (which i recommend), get the Magic Stick as soon as possible. If you use CotS and your enemies cast their spells, you will got some free charges for your stick ;)

Core Items

MekansmVoid Stone
The new Silencer build should capitalize on his survivability. Put it this way. The longer he survives in a battle:
1) the longer his aura can disrupt opposing's combo
2) the better the chance he can steal enemy's int and add it to his own
3) the longer he can DPSAnd this core is for survivability.

Phase Boots will help you escape from gank and chasing while Meka will support your team. Bracers is needed as your HP is low and you're not getting stats. Void Stone for mana regen which can be turned into either Eul's or Guinsoo.

Luxury Items

OR + +

If you farm poorly, convert your Void Stone into Eul's. But if you got a lot of money, get sheep stick instead. After get either Eul's or Guinsoo , start aiming for Heart of Tarrasque and Shiva's Guards component.

Silencer Strategy

Start with the above items and pick top/bottom lane with a partner. The new Silencer is more fit on dual lane. Get CotS and start casting it on your enemies since level 1. It will screw your enemies more than you thought. Cast it especially to low mana stunner like Sven or SK. And don't forget, it's area spells, aim to get 2 target at once if possible.

Get Last Word on level 2 if you feel you can get early kill. If you're not sure, get Glaives instead for free creep aggro harass. Get Magic Stick as soon as possible, it work perfectly with your CotS. Keep playing cool and cast CotS on enemies stunner.

At the middle game, start ganking and helps your friend. You're know getting free Int if the enemies died within your range. Maximize this! Don't forget that your enemies will suffer from the permanent -1 Int.

When it come to team clash, maintain your distance. Hide behind your tanker but still keep your Last Word aura in range. Cast CotS on low pool mana hero with deadly spells if you have the chance. Keep your self safe while throwing your Glaives. Use Global Silence in the right time. It can cancel channeling spells like Epicenter and Blackhole. In the opposite, if you have a friend with channeling spells, you can make a great combo. As soon as they started the channeling spells, use Global Silence.

Overall, DPS Silencer was from 6.48b. A lot have changed since then. Silencer just doesn't fit in the DPS carry field anymore, other carry heroes had been discovered and new heroes with imba stats, such that Glaives + Stats pales in comparison. To be picked in the new version, Silencer has to play an unique role that no others can do, and this capitalize on all out support with Last Word.
